Thrill of Watercolor Painting

I paint and draw as a hobby.

I started out in pencil, pen and ink, and charcoal sketching. I have always been afraid of trying out in watercolor. Watercolor painting posed as a challenge for me. I started doing watercolor note cards as a gift to my Mom in the Philippines before I left for the United States in 1997. My favorite subject is nature, particularly garden flowers and animals. Lately, I have started doing watercolor paintings of travels and human interest topics. My watercolor paintings have become gifts for my dear husband, Austin, for Valentine's Day and for his homecoming from Kiruna, Sweden on a NASA SOLVE Mission. I am thrilled to paint more in watercolor, overcoming the fear of smudging, not getting the color right, or simply making mistakes. I will make more note cards and gifts with my watercolor paintings.
