Carla Gauthier Watercolors

Born and educated in Canada, Carla has been living and working in the US for 11 years and in Texas for 6. After receiving her BA majoring in Fine Art and Art History, she worked as a graphic artist as she pursued her teaching degree. A background in traditional drawing and printmaking techniques provided her a solid base for learning watercolor, and creating work in this new medium. Through workshops, Carla has had the opportunity to learn from watercolor artists Steven Quiller, Karen Vernon, Judy Morris, Jean Grastorf, John Salminen, H.C.Dodd and Jack Reid. She has become a watercolor teacher herself. “It is challenging to work with a medium that has such range. Seeing what other artists can do with watercolor is inspiring; being able to share my enthusiasm for it is a blessing.” Carla has exhibited throughout Canada and the United States, and has work in collections in North America.
