Diane Denghausen, born and raised in Southern California, grew up watching her mother paint. Always drawing as a child and through High School, she mainly concentrated on pen & ink and pencil drawing. After completing her degree in Marketing - Advertising, she spent two years backpacking around the world, exploring her interest in photography. She then became a Flight Attendant, but finally returned to her first love of Fine Art. "Americana" is a term she often uses to describe her work, preferring watercolor, pencil, or a combination of both. "I find a special fascination with glass and reflection". Recently discovering her Northern Cherokee heritage, Denghausen has begun exploring Native American Imagery. She is a Signature Member of the National Watercolor Society (NWS) and the Watercolor USA Honor Society. She is a Charter Member of Signature 16 Artist Society (S/16). For the last six years she has been a juried Signature Member of Women Artist of the West (WAOW). The prestigious National Association of Women Artist (NAWA) has also accepted her as a member. One of her paintings appeared on the American Airlines' International and Transcon Menus in the First and Business Classes during Oct.-Dec.'98. Denghausen has four self-published Limited Edition Prints out and her work can be found in many public and private collection through out the United Stated including; Springfield Art Museum - Permanent Collection, Springfield, Missouri; Worldwide Medical Corp. Irvine, California; and MBNA America Bank, Newark, Delaware.
