June's Watercolors

June's watercolors are shown at galleries in Mass. and Florida. Spending the summers in New England and the winters in florida, she paints landscapes and seascapes on location, expressing the beauty of each area. This includes sunsets,flowers, orchards, birds and animals, and fish murals done from studies of fish at Mote Marine,Sarasota,Fl. June attended Antioch College, majoring in art for two years. She then studied weaving and pottery at Haystack School of Arts and Crafts. She ran her own pottery shop at Cape Cod and was a member of several co-op groups. After 20 years of teaching and selling pottery, doing watercolors, and raising three children with her husband, she decided to concentrate in painting. In 1987 she graduated from Bridgewater State College with highest honors and received the Gloria Tibbets Art Award. Hosting a two woman show at the Julianna Gallery at the Massasoit College in Wellesley, Mass., her work was selected for private colections. As a member of the Florida Suncoast Watercolor Society she received a Special Award at their show in Punta Gorda. She exhibits at the Longboat Key Art Center, at the Sarasota Visual Art Center, and private art galleries, as well as the Florida Suncoast Watercolor Society Shows.
