Kimberly Pruett

Background

The artist was born and raised in Southern California. She was always considered very creative but amazingly discovered art at the late age of 18. Kimberly's first love is painting using watercolor and gouache. But she also enjoys working with metals, collage, and drawing media. Her "art training" began with jewelery design and drawing classes at her local community college. She has a natural ability for design and use of color. Her artmaking is a lifelong love and pursuit.

Style and Subject

The artist has often been told that she looks at life through "rose colored glasses". To her this is a compliment indeed. Through her "seeing" she brings to others her energy and vitality. Viewers of her work often remark that the landscapes are magical an undiscovered oasis, or eden of sorts, and her figures have a gestural quality to them.
