![]() Linda ChalbergBackgroundLinda Chalberg lives in the Texas Hill Country and began studying and pursuing her interest in watercolor in 1997. She has studied with 15 nationally known instructors. Linda's passion is to combine travel with painting en plein air (on location). Painting workshops to France, Spain, Holland, Italy, Mexico and around the U.S. have provided a wealth of photos and sketches for her expressive, color-filled watercolors. In 2003 Linda joined 6 other Boerne artists to open and operate the Carriage House Gallery of Artists. Since 2007 the gallery has moved to 110 Rosewood in Boerne and the number of artist/owners has grown to nine. Shapes and colors are the signature elements of the watercolors of Linda Chalberg. Landscapes and flowers are composed of simplified shapes that fit together like pieces of stained glass, mosaics or quilts. Enhanced colors seem to glow as light passes through layers of transparent watercolor and bounces back off the white of the paper. With sketchbook in hand, the composition begins on location, en plein air, and concludes in the studio. Visit with Linda as she shares her journals, her process and her paintings. Be inspired to see the world in a different way.
