Margaret M. Suddeth has been creating art for as long as she can remember. Watercolor has been her favorite medium for over 20 years. She has specialized in portraiture for over 10. Margaret works only in watercolor because of it's transparent and luminous qualities. She utilizes these properties to bring out the spirit and personality of her subjects. Margaret is a Signature Member of the Baltimore Watercolor Society and the Maryland Society of Portrait Painters. She is the President of the Guild of Bowie Artists and serves on the City of Bowie Arts Committee. She has recently been selected to be included in Who's Who in America. The artist lives in Bowie, Maryland with her husband and their two sons.

Portraiture has an emotional connection to the viewer other types of painting don't have. I strive for this connection in every one of my portraits. My greatest pleasure in painting portraits is creating a work of art that will be treasured by the person I am painting and their family for years to come. The biggest thrill in painting portraits is the moment when my subject emerges from the painting surface and I am no longer alone with paint and paper.
