S. Charboneau

My grandmother’s Texas backyard bird sanctuary provided a wealth of artistic inspiration for my first childhood drawings. Always encouraged by my family, I cannot remember a time when I did not consider myself an artist. Predominantly self-taught in my hometown of Houston, I landed my first illustration job at age 12. From then, I began to color a larger canvas-from shows in Texas, California and Washington, to teaching art to children in Los Angeles and Las Vegas, and free-lance illustration work in Los Angeles and Houston. Familiar with various media, I currently enjoy the flexibility and form of acrylics on canvas, and the beauty of watercolors – often inspired by my wanderings throughout the Pacific Northwest, where I live with my daughter.
