LIGHT UP YOUR WATERCOLORS… WITH COLOR… Three Day Workshop: June 14, 15, 16 2007 or Three Day Workshop: August 16, 17, 18 2007 Workshop Description What are muddy colors? How do I avoid them? What are the three properties of color? Why should I know what complementary colors are? How do you stack colors as well as values in transparent watercolor? Can I create the colors I need with a very limited palette? The Color and Layering workshop emphasizes seeing and using color and the special layering process that Linda uses to create watercolor paintings. The workshop consists of an intensive focus on color with lectures, slide shows and assignments which will aid the participants in implementing the concepts learned. A thorough knowledge of color is essential to the painter and it is mandatory in the layering process of transparent watercolor. At the end of a workshop, one student commented, “I will never see color in quite the same way again.” That is Linda’s goal! The workshops will be held in Linda’s studio in Stansbury Park, Utah. The location is 25 minutes from the Salt Lake City Airport. This is a beautiful rural area and students may wish to stay after the workshop’s conclusion to paint some of the countryside’s many subjects. Several Motels and Hotels are available for your stay in a nearby city. The workshops are limited to a maximum of ten students.
