I have
received inspiration in many different quarters - through the gorgeous
surroundings in the Four Corners Area where I reside, unusual
lighting, foreign places, and weather, to name a few. I am intrigued by
trying to tell a story through my paintings. I try to convey
more than just a picture of what is in front of me - I trust my viewer
to put his or her own spin on what I have painted. I have
been moved by artist Edward Hopper; his paintings always convey a sense
of melancholy beauty and solitude that I admire. I continue
to develop on this theme in my own work.
